Quantitative Radiology Solutions
Quantitative Radiology Solutions (QRS) offers advanced body-wide quantification of medical images for applications in radiology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology. Its unique Automatic Anatomy Recognition (AAR) system supports recognition and delineation of anatomical objects and diseased tissue in multiple body regions in MRI, CT, and PET/CT images.
The first application of AAR pursued by QRS is in radiation therapy planning to reduce the time needed for contouring of normal structures from 1.5 – 3 hours to under 5 minutes. Productivity improvements could be used to enable adaptive radiotherapy planning during a course of treatment to account for tumor shrinkage and patient weight loss, and improve patient outcomes and minimize side effects. Additionally, initial tests demonstrate that AAR for radiation therapy planning is more accurate and efficient in both anatomy recognition and delineation.
The QRS team has a combined 75 years of experience in radiology including clinical, planning, product development, and algorithm development. The company was formed by faculty in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and is led by a veteran medical technology executive, formerly with GE and Siemens.
